Baby, It's Belgium Outside. And French.
Yum and yummy. When the weather gets cold, we all need comfort foods to keep us warm. So treat yourself to the real Belgium waffle in The Holiday Shops at Augustin's Waffles. You can get them with toppings or without, and you can even order some to go. And these aren't your toaster variety waffle. No, these are Liege & Belgium waffles: Liege waffles (vanilla or cinnamon) have pearl sugar in the dough that melts and caramelizes on top, making them soft and chewy; Belgium waffles are more familiar, those golden brown, airy and crisp delights I always order at brunch. Either way, at Augustin's you're getting the best waffle in town.
Then go south from Belgium and visit Crepe Cafe (above) for a little French treat. Crepe Cafe has over 20 different crepe concoctions, from "Nutella Berries" with fresh strawberries, blueberry jam and Nutella, or the "Big Apple," fresh apple and brown sugar with ground cinnamon. Other fillings include peanut butter, kiwi, mango, and a variety of fruit sauces. Mmmmm, crepes and waffles, the perfect way to stay warm and fueled while holiday shopping in Bryant Park.
waffles: 1 topping for $5, 2 for $6, unlimited toppings for $7
crepes: $4 - $8, depending on the fillings
